Climate Change
The Maryland Forest Service restores, manages, and protects Maryland’s trees, forests, and forested ecosystems to sustain our natural resources and connect people to the land.
To accomplish this, we work with private, public, and non-profit landowners to assist with forest stewardship planning, tree planting, invasive species management, and a host of other services.

The Climate Change Working Group of Frederick County was founded in 2016, to bring together community volunteers to share knowledge, research climate change issues, and develop recommendations to address climate change at the local level through policy development, education and advocacy. We work on multiple topics related to climate change, including energy, water, health, transportation, ecosystem preservation, and the economy. We advocate for the recommendations we propose, and welcome alliance and cooperative work with others seeking similar goals. Our meetings are open to all; click on the weblink to the Envision Frederick County website for the current meeting schedule.
Since our founding during the campaign to pass the landmark Clean Water Act in 1972, Clean Water Action has worked to win strong health and environmental protections by bringing issue expertise, solution-oriented thinking and people power to the table. Our mission is to protect our environment, health, economic well-being and community quality of life. Clean Water Action organizes strong grassroots groups and coalitions, and campaigns to elect environmental candidates and to solve environmental and community problems.
