On May 30, Catoctin Land Trust partnered with Stream Link Education to host a volunteer tree-planting event on a private property in New Windsor, Maryland. Under beautiful spring skies, 15 dedicated volunteers came together to plant 27 native trees, taking an important first step in conservation efforts for the property.

The planting marks the beginning of a larger vision for the site, serving as the first conservation project planned for the property. As these trees grow, they will provide valuable shade for wildlife habitat, improve water quality, reduce soil erosion, and contribute to the overall health of the local watershed.

Volunteer tree plantings like this one demonstrate the power of community-driven conservation. By working together, landowners, volunteers, and partner organizations can create lasting environmental benefits that will be enjoyed for generations to come.
