Martin is wildlife biologist and geographer (B. S. University of South Florida).  He  has worked for the US Geological Survey,  Southwest Florida Water Management, National Park Service, and Maryland Department of Natural Resources.   He is lead author and first editor of The Timber Rattlesnake Conservation  Action Plan,  a multi-authored (73 authors, 5 editors) Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation document in press as of February 2020.
