Founded in 1989, the Central Maryland Heritage League is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization created to promote the cultural, historical, and natural heritage of the Middletown Valley.
The mission of the Central Maryland Heritage League is to advocate, encourage, and enhance public awareness of this heritage through the conservation, interpretation, preservation and stewardship of the resources contributing to the South Mountain State Battlefield and its surrounds — including but not limited to Wise’s Field, historic Dahlgren Chapel, and the Dahlgren family involvement in the events relating to the Civil War in Maryland.
