After spending spring hunkered down at home, Marylanders are venturing outdoors. Cunningham Falls State Park, Catoctin Mountain Park, and others have opened to visitors. Each is following CDC and state and local guidelines as part of phased a reopening. Before visiting, be sure to check park websites and social media to see which facilities are open. For some, such as Antietam National Battlefield, the park and trails are open, but the visitor center remains closed. In addition, some parks are limiting the number of visitors in the park, with periodic closings throughout the day, and have closed restrooms (offering only the portable ones). Get outside this holiday weekend to enjoy the Heart of Maryland; and, please play it safe!
