This 30-acre natural area is gem of a wetland, accessed almost entirely by a boardwalk through the wet channels and sphagnum. It’s a unique natural setting for our region; more like the mountain wetlands in the Allegheny Mountains much further west — and higher in elevation. You could walk the entire boardwalk in 15 minutes, but what’s the rush? Take your time and enjoy the sounds and changing light. Please note: this is an extremely sensitive wetland; stay on the boardwalk. There are no amenities other than the beauty of nature. Access is via small trailhead outside the gate; with parking for just a few cars.
