SVTU supports the national vision through a combination of conservation, education, and community engagement efforts. Our chapter contributes both financial support and volunteer hours to restoration activities on Beaver Creek in Washington County. Volunteers also assist with maintenance projects on Little Seneca Creek in Montgomery County, brook trout streams in southern Catoctin (Frederick County), and warm water systems such as Great Seneca Creek and sections of the Potomac River. In addition to conservation work, SVTU promotes education and outreach by hosting youth fly-tying and fishing programs, adult fly-tying sessions, and supporting Project Healing Waters events in partnership with other organizations. We also foster a strong community through social gatherings and introductory programs like Fly Fishing 101 for members and guests.
